CDC's Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity (DNPAO) is working to reduce obesity and obesity-related diseases. DNPAO's mission is to lead strategic public health efforts to prevent and control obesity, chronic disease, and other health conditions though regular physical activity and good nutrition.

The Weight-Control Information Network (WIN) was established by the National Institutes of Health's (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) in June 1994. WIN provides the general public, health professionals, the media, and Congress with up-to-date, science-based information on weight control, obesity, physical activity, and related nutritional issues.
The Weight-control Information Network at WIN responds to E- mail, written and telephone requests for information, and provides a variety of written materials on obesity, weight control, and nutritional disorders.
